You never knew I had a green thumb, did you?  Actually, I don’t and that’s okay because if you haven’t already guessed, I’m not talking about horticulture here.  Nope, I’m talking about the weeds that we let grow in our emotional garden.

Don’t feel bad, we all have them – some of us more than others.  Although seemingly small (at least in the beginning), these weeds can be the single most detrimental roadblock to our success and  happiness.  How we handle these weeds can make all the difference in the world.

Some people don’t even realize that they have let weeds
in and that is the most dangerous situation of all.

So what are these weeds?  Well, they can be any number of things: limiting beliefs, poor self esteem, negative thoughts (either created by you or by others), we could be here all day because the list goes on-and-on.

Getting rid of these weeds can be a bit tricky.  Not unlike the weeds that grow in your real garden, you can’t just lop off the nasty part that you see above ground.  You really need to get to the roots and yank those suckers out.

Sometimes just identifying the weeds can be the most difficult part.  One thing that I have found to be especially helpful is spending some ‘quite time’ or meditating and doing some serious introspection.  I’ll take into consideration my goals and thoughts and really dig down to get to the emotions behind them- then I can identify the things that are holding me back.  Once I do that, I can work on removing them.

So what weeds have you let occupy space in your mind?  How are they holding you back and what can you do to eliminate them?  Remember, you deserve the best.  Don’t let anything hold you back – especially yourself.

To your success,
